MOSQUITO-Less • Easily applied with hose sprayer or standard garden pump sprayer. No mixing required. Simply spray your property, trees, shrubs, gardens, lawn, fences, out buildings and low areas. Just Add Arenas Arena Dust Overview Dust in arenas is created as the sand, woodchips, rubber Horses can breathe up to 75 X the amount of air we do and obviously a dusty arena can lead to a host of respiratory related problems for everyone involved. The most common dust management practice is to water arena footing. Watering adds weight to dust particles and helps to bind them. However, microbes, molds, and fungi are suspect to inhabit damp arena footing. In our climate it is difficult to water in the winter and what follows is a basic discussion on some of the standard alternatives and an introduction of new Canadian dust control product now available. A Canadian developed, granular, easy to apply, alternative to all of the above "Just Add Arenas" has many environmental and health attributes. This all-natural mineral and plant extract product efficiently pulls the moisture from the ambient air. The footing immediately absorbs this and automatic moisture and freeze control is achieved. No more watering or oiling required. Simply spread this granular DIY product, with standard spreader on arena and allow the horses to work it in. This product combines magnesium, commonly used as a fertilizer, with zeolite www.zeolite.ca. The result is an automatic moisture, odour control, improved footing aeration. It helps break down clumping and organics (manure), captures ammonia (urea), helps maintain footing Ph and acts as an excellent soil conditioner. Adding this compost blend to the poor soil in your yard and tilling it in will drastically improve your poor clay soils ability to store and drain water, improve aeration and provide organic matter for soil microbes to live on. This is a cheaper fix than hauling in truckloads of screened loam before putting in a lawn. Screen loam in Alberta is little better than the poor soil your yard may already have. Our carefully blended top soil is lovingly made by hand with the finest soil building materials. Other bulk tote bag top soils sold in Alberta are made mostly from peat moss and fir powder (sawdust) with a little bit of loam, sand and compost mixed in. Sometimes even potentially contaiminated animal manure is used. Be aware. This soil looks and feels fine, but is not that good for plants. It's often empty of microbial life and low on available nutrients. Don't be fooled with this garden "junk food". It's big business for many of these outlets and quality is not always important to their bottom line. While this soil is better than screened loam, it can be problematic to your garden. If compost that has not been completely finished decomposing is used, this can actually rob nitrogen and oxygen from the soil you mix it in with. This is a serious problem common among operations selling soil, they simply don't have the expertise and often the integrity to wait until the process is complete, they'll sell it when they can no matter what. Most homeowners don't know about this and can find out the hard way when plants in their garden struggle to survive or die off. We had many reports of this last year from clients buying this garden soil and compost in the bulk bags. Our blend is made from a mixture of good base soil, peat moss, a lot of properly finished plant based compost, worm castings and then innoculated with a rich mixture of beneficial soil microbes to insure it is active and alive, teeming with living organisms to replentish your often dead dry clay soils found in Alberta. This soil is the best quality you can find anywhere. |

BorrePlex CA is also an excellent source of Sulfur and Calcium to help with soil conditioning and micronutrient active transport within the root zone. BorrePlex CA can also be blended with other fertilizers such as CAN 17 and UN 32 unlike many other soil amnedments. Why Add Humic Acid to the Soil? One way to supplement organic matter in low humus soils is to add commercial humic acid preparations.
